This proposal is titled “Assessing the Current State of the Infrastructure Systems jointly managed by the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot Communities: A Project Preparation Proposal”.
The proposal outlines a strategic framework for promoting sustainable peace and cooperation between both communities living in the divided city of Nicosia/Lefcosa. It briefly presents the current context, identifies core challenges, and introduces a set of targeted measures aimed at building trust and fostering cooperation for mutual benefits. Both authors have been on the island previously and understand some of the complexity of the situation.  The visit was short and the availability of reliable information and documentation was limited.  Some of the description and discussion of the current situation might be incomplete and maybe sometimes not 100% correct. The purpose of the visit was to get an initial assessment that can lead to a constructive and mutually beneficial cooperationto improve the jointly managed infrastructure system.
